NFL Nation reporters assess the biggest injuries across the league for Week 7.NFC East | NFC North | NFC South | NFC West AFC East | AFC North| AFC South | AFC WestNFC EASTDallas CowboysIn the Cowboys lone practice of the bye week, they?chose to rest offensive tackles Tyron Smith and Doug Free. Smith had been dealing with a bulging disc issue in his back, and Free has had quadriceps and ankle issues. The Cowboys want to use the bye to get their starters ahead of the game when they return to practice next Monday. Smith has missed two games and been limited in practice in recent weeks. Free has not missed a snap this season. -- Todd ArcherNew York GiantsWide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (hip) wasnt at practice Wednesday and spent most of the day inside with trainers. Coach Ben McAdoo said hes pretty sore after landing hard while attempting to catch a pass Sunday. The injury isnt expected to be serious, and there remains a strong chance that Beckham is ready by Sunday, according to a source. McAdoo added that Beckham could play even if he doesnt?practice this week. -- Jordan RaananPhiladelphia EaglesDefensive tackle Bennie Logan is considered week to week because of a groin injury and is unlikely to play against the Vikings. That could be a rather significant blow to a run defense that yielded 230 yards last week to Washington. Center Jason Kelce is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Hes expected to suit up Sunday, though its worth watching how this affects his play. -- Tim McManusWashington RedskinsThere are two injuries the Redskins will monitor closely: tight end Jordan Reed and receiver DeSean Jackson. Reed remains in the concussion protocol -- along with?linebacker Sua Cravens?-- but was limited in practice Wednesday -- a good step. Hell visit an independent doctor Friday to see if hell be cleared for Sundays game at Detroit. Jackson missed practice because of a sore shoulder and isnt sure if hell practice Thursday, but he is optimistic about playing Sunday. -- John KeimNFC NORTHChicago BearsThe Bears will be without receiver Eddie Royal (toe) on Thursday night, and guard Josh Sitton is doubtful because of a bad ankle. Sittons lack of availability is particularly disappointing because he played for Green Bay until it shockingly released him before Week 1. The only piece of good news is cornerback Tracy Porter (knee) is questionable after having limited participation in Wednesdays walk-through. Porter had an interception and several pass breakups in Chicagos upset win at Lambeau Field last season. -- Jeff DickersonDetroit LionsEric Ebron was running off to the side during Wednesdays practice, the first possible sign that the Lions tight end is making progress in his return from ankle and knee injuries suffered in Week 4 against Chicago. Detroit could use him badly as it has?targeted a tight end only once over the past two weeks. While its not clear hell return this week against Washington, this bodes well for a comeback at some point soon. Meanwhile, Detroits running backs appear to be getting healthier. Dwayne Washington (ankle) practiced Wednesday, but Theo Riddick (ankle) did not. Keep an eye on both players this week as the Lions should get at least one back to face Washington. -- Michael RothsteinGreen Bay PackersIts pretty straightforward for the Packers this week: Anybody who has?any sort of injury is out of Thursday nights game against the Bears. Eddie Lacy, James Starks, Damarious Randall, Quinten Rollins, Jared Abbrederis, Jared Cook and Chris Banjo:?Thats a full inactive list right there. The only player?on the injury report whose status is up in the air is receiver Davante Adams, and hes questionable because of a concussion, so its hard to imagine him playing on a short week. -- Rob DemovskyMinnesota VikingsWide receiver Stefon Diggs practiced in limited fashion Wednesday after missing the Vikings last game two weeks ago because of a groin injury. The fact he was back on the practice field suggests he?has?a good chance to return Sunday for the Vikings in Philadelphia. As tricky as groin injuries can be, however, the Vikings will need to be fully confident Diggs is healthy before putting their leading receiver on the field. -- Ben GoesslingNFC SOUTHAtlanta FalconsThe Falcons are rather healthy, with rookie linebackers DeVondre Campbell and Deion Jones now off the injury report after recovering from?ankle injuries. Maybe the biggest question mark now is wide receiver Taylor Gabriel, who suffered a concussion against the Seahawks. Gabriel started last weeks game in the three-receiver set alongside Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu. He has been a pleasant surprise since being?claimed off waivers from the Browns. The Falcons could use his speed against anyone. -- Vaughn McClureCarolina PanthersCornerback Leonard Johnson practiced with the team Tuesday for the first time since he was signed during the offseason. Johnson has been recovering from an Achilles injury. Theres a chance he could be activated for Carolinas next game -- Oct. 30 against Arizona -- and help the secondary as the nickelback. The Panthers also could get back starting cornerbacks James Bradberry (toe) and Robert McClain (hamstring) by then. Left tackle Michael Oher (concussion) and defensive tackle Vernon Butler (ankle) should be back as well. -- David NewtonNew Orleans SaintsIts good news/bad news on the Saints injury report this week. Left tackle Terron Armstead?-- arguably one of their two or three best players -- returned to practice Wednesday on a limited basis after missing the past three games because of an unspecified knee injury. His return would be huge, especially considering his backup Andrus Peat was unable to practice Wednesday because of a groin injury. On the flip side of the ball, the Saints have yet another injury concern at their ravaged cornerback position. Veteran Sterling Moore did not practice Wednesday because of an abdomen injury, and starter Delvin Breaux still is not back yet from a broken fibula. -- Mike TriplettTampa Bay BuccaneersIt isnt a question mark?as much as it is a?big blow: running back Doug Martin suffered a setback a week from Sunday with his hamstring injury, which means its highly unlikely he plays against the 49ers this week. Other players who were held out of Wednesdays practice include defensive linemen?Robert Ayers (ankle) and Clinton McDonald (hamstring). On a positive note, defensive tackle?Gerald McCoy (calf) returned to practice and was limited. -- Jenna LaineNFC WESTArizona CardinalsQuarterback Carson Palmers hamstring injury was largely glossed over Wednesday. Coach Bruce Arians said?Palmer didnt have any lingering effects, but Palmer was given a veterans day off, so it was difficult to tell the status of the signal-callers?hamstring. Arizona was also without wide receiver?Jaron Brown (knee) and John Brown (hamstrings). The status for both is up in the air. The Cardinals probably will get back left guard Mike Iupati from a sprained ankle he suffered in Week 5.?-- Josh WeinfussLos Angeles RamsDefensive end Robert Quinn missed the past two weeks because of what the team called a shoulder injury, but coach?Jeff Fisher said Wednesday hes optimistic that hell be able to return for Sundays game against the Giants in?London. The Rams defensive line has been shorthanded the past two weeks, a stretch that has seen the Bills and Lions combine for 61 points in back-to-back losses. Starting defensive tackle Michael Brockers missed Week 5 because of a hip injury, then suffered a thigh injury in Week 6 and probably wont be able to go in Week 7. Quinns return would be crucial. -- Alden GonzalezSan Francisco 49ersRunning back Carlos Hyde suffered a right shoulder injury in last weeks loss to Buffalo and?headed?to the locker room early. His shoulder was in a sling earlier this week. Hyde is still the focal point of San Franciscos offense, and he has been effective at finding the end zone if not consistently producing yards. For a team riding a five-game losing streak, playing without Hyde certainly wouldnt help right the ship. And the 49ers second-leading rusher is recently benched quarterback Blaine Gabbert. -- Nick WagonerSeattle SeahawksThe player to watch this week is strong safety Kam Chancellor, who?suffered a groin injury last Thursday during practice and did not play in the Seahawks Week 6 game against the Falcons. Coach Pete Carroll said that Chancellor is day to day, but Chancellor?did not participate in Wednesdays practice. With Kelcie McCray filling in at safety last week, the Seahawks had two big blown coverages that led to touchdowns. If McCray starts again, the Seahawks need to make sure their communication is better against Carson Palmer?and the Cardinals. -- Sheil KapadiaAFC EASTBuffalo BillsLeSean McCoy injured his hamstring in Wednesdays practice, casting doubt on his availability for Sundays game in Miami. Rex Ryan said the Bills were awaiting further medical evaluation to determine the severity. Some players I asked in the locker room said they didnt see the injury happen, which is a sign it might not have been severe. If McCoy cant play,?Mike Gillislee, who is averaging 6.8 yards per carry in limited time, is expected to get the bulk of carries in his place. -- Mike RodakMiami DolphinsThe Dolphins worst fears were confirmed Wednesday when Pro Bowl safety Reshad Jones was put on injured reserve because of a torn rotator cuff. Jones sought a second opinion to see if he could play through the injury, but the second diagnosis was the same. Backup safety Michael Thomas will start for Miami the rest of the season, but replacing Jones will be difficult. He is?the teams best tackler and is very good in the box to help with blitzing and run support. -- James WalkerNew England PatriotsLinebacker Jamie Collins missed Sundays win over the Bengals because of a hip injury after being limited in practice in the week?leading up to the game. Without Collins, the Patriots started rookie Elandon Roberts alongside Donta Hightower,?and Roberts?played well for the second week in a row. But there is a reason why Collins is viewed as one of the NFLs better players at his position, as he has a level of athleticism that is not easily matched. -- Mike ReissNew York JetsThe Jets have three new injuries that bear watching -- rookie linebacker?Darron Lee (ankle), left tackle?Ryan Clady (shoulder) and right tackle?Brent Qvale (neck). On a short week, Lees status for Sunday against the Ravens is a big question. The offensive line will be in bad shape if Clady and Qvale cant play. It would press rookie tackle?Brandon Shell into action, but its too soon to discount Clady at this point in the week. -- Rich CiminiAFC NORTHBaltimore RavensQuarterback Joe Flacco was among the nine players who didnt practice for the banged-up Ravens. Flacco, who is dealing with a right shoulder injury, is optimistic about playing Sunday against the Jets. Its nothing to worry about, Flacco said. But the Ravens wont start Flacco if he doesnt show enough strength in his throwing arm. Its definitely not a given that he plays, but Flaccos history says he will do everything in his power to play in what has become a must-win for the Ravens, whove lost three straight games. Ryan Mallett, who is 3-5 as a starter in his career, is the backup. -- Jamison HensleyCincinnati BengalsBengals tight end Tyler Eifert is day to day once again after returning to practice for the first time in two weeks. Well find out more Thursday, as Eifert needs to go through a full practice before making his season debut. Should Eifert play, it will be in an extremely limited capacity. Center Russell Bodine, who was carted off against the Patriots after injuring his ankle, did not practice Wednesday but was no longer sporting the walking boot he had on after the game. Bodine was replaced by T.J. Johnson against the Patriots, and Johnson probably would play center?vs. the Browns if Bodines out. Linebacker Vontaze Burfict left Wednesdays practice because of an ankle injury that is not believed to be serious. -- Katherine TerrellCleveland BrownsUncertainty surrounds two of the Browns more significant players. Wide receiver?Terrelle Pryor did not practice Wednesday because of a hamstring issue. Pryor leads the team in receptions and yards, and is tied for the team lead in touchdowns. Any game he misses causes the offense issues. Cornerback?Joe Haden also missed practice because of a groin injury. Haden has had some memorable games facing A.J. Green, and if hes out or not healthy the Browns would have no one to cover Green. -- Pat McManamonPittsburgh SteelersBen Roethlisbergers left meniscus surgery shakes up the Steelers week -- and possibly the season -- if his recovery lasts the full four-to-six weeks. The team is creating a game plan with new quarterback Landry Jones that will also rely heavily on running back LeVeon Bell against the Patriots. The Steelers will monitor Roethlisbergers knee swelling and range of motion before he starts practicing. -- Jeremy FowlerAFC SOUTHHouston TexansRookie wide receiver Will Fuller says he hopes to play Monday night against the Broncos, but that its up to coach and how [the hamstring] reacts during the week. Fuller practiced Tuesday after missing Sundays game against the Colts because of the hamstring injury. He?was active but did not play. The Texans also have a banged-up secondary?and will be without cornerback Kevin Johnson, who has?a foot injury. Coach Bill OBrien also said cornerback Kareem Jackson (hamstring) and safety Quintin Demps (calf) are day to day as well. Cornerbacks A.J. Bouye and Robert Nelson?probably will play a lot Monday if Jackson doesnt play. -- Sarah BarshopIndianapolis ColtsThe Colts will be without three of their top five receivers against Tennessee if Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) doesnt play. Dorsett didnt practice Wednesday, and coach Chuck Pagano is calling the second-year receiver day to day. Not having Dorsett will put an even more amount of pressure on T.Y. Hilton?because Indianapolis is already without Donte Moncrief (shoulder) and Quan Bray (ankle). -- Mike WellsJacksonville JaguarsCornerback Prince Amukamara was limited in Wednesdays practice because of a hamstring strain, and thats potentially a big problem for the Jaguars. The last time Amukamara had a hamstring strain he missed two games (Weeks 2 and 3). If hes unable to play against Oakland on Sunday, the Jaguars will have to turn to Davon House,?whom the team benched with the return of Aaron Colvin from a four-game PED suspension. Jalen Ramsey and Amukamara are the starters on the outside, and Colvin is the teams best nickelback. House has struggled this season, especially with pass interference penalties, and might have to match up one-on-one with Michael Crabtree, who already has five touchdown catches this season. -- Mike DiRoccoTennessee TitansTight end Anthony Fasano and nickelback Brice McCain didnt practice Wednesday because of ankle injuries, but there doesnt seem to be a big concern about either for Sundays game against Indianapolis at Nissan Stadium. As the Titans look to break through against the Colts after nine consecutive losses, they should have access to everybody. Nose tackle Al Woods, coming off a calf injury, will have to put together two more good practices to play. But the Titans have had two good games up front without him. -- Paul KuharskyAFC WESTDenver BroncosCoach Gary Kubiak has said weve got some things going on, when he has spoken about the injuries in the offensive line. That group is still a big question mark headed into Monday nights game against the Texans. The Broncos certainly havent received the performance they had hoped to get up front in the seasons first six games, but injuries havent helped. Right tackle Donald Stephenson missed three games because of a calf injury and looked decidedly rusty in his return in San Diego with a three-penalty night. Ty Sambrailo, who filled in for Stephenson, still looks to be dealing with the effects of a preseason elbow injury, and it has affected his ability to hold off opposing pass-rushers. And now left tackle Russell Okung is in the concussion protocol after being taken to the hospital for evaluation after the loss in San Diego. The result has been an inconsistent run game, and the teams quarterbacks have taken some hits they dont need to take. The Texans are?tied for sixth in the league in sacks. -- Jeff LegwoldKansas City ChiefsLinebacker Justin Houston started practicing Wednesday. Well see how much he can get done, coach Andy Reid said. I think we just need to see what he can do out here and then keep a rein?on it. The Chiefs now have a three-week window in which to activate Houston, who is on the physically unable to perform list after having surgery in February to repair a balky left ACL. That wont happen in time for Sundays game against the Saints, but its reasonable to think he could play for the first time on Oct. 30 against the Colts or Nov. 6 against the Jaguars. The pass rush could use the boost. -- Adam TeicherOakland RaidersRunning back Latavius Murray has missed the past two games because of a turf toe injury on his right foot, and the Raiders run game has stalled with a pair of 5-foot-8 rookies --?DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard?-- being asked to be every-down backs. Murray, however, anticipated practicing Wednesday and, possibly, playing Sunday at the Jaguars. I have no doubt that it should be a good day for me, Murray said before Wednesdays practice. If Murray cant play, the combined yards-per-carry average of 3.6 by Washington and Richard needs improvement, or fullback Jamize Olawale needs more carries. Murray is averaging 4.3 yards per attempt. -- Paul GutierrezSan Diego ChargersSan Diegos top receiver Travis Benjamin missed the past two days of practice because of a knee issue. If Benjamin is unable to play, the Chargers will have only three healthy receivers on their?roster in Tyrell Williams, Dontrelle Inman and Griff Whalen. Chargers coach Mike McCoy, however, said hes hopeful Benjamin can play against the Falcons on Sunday. Youve got to look at the fact that its a long season, McCoy said. And with the extra day that weve had, were just making sure that everyone we have is as fresh as possible come Sunday. -- Eric D. Williams Custom Mexico Jerseys .
