January and will be out of action for at Antworten

LANDOVER, Md. -- It appears the Minnesota Vikings search for help on the offensive line will continue. The Vikings lost left tackle Jake Long on Sunday to a left Achilles injury on their second-to-last offensive play during their 26-20 loss to the Washington Redskins, and coach Mike Zimmer said after the game he believes the injury will be season-ending.If Long is done for the season, it would be the latest blow in a career that has been full of devastating injuries for the former No. 1 overall pick. The Vikings signed Long in October after hed recovered from two torn ACLs, and the team made the 31-year-old its starting left tackle on Oct. 31. Long was in only his fourth game with the Vikings on Sunday when he was injured again. We were in St. Louis together, and obviously both went through some injuries there, quarterback Sam Bradford said. I know how difficult it is, and obviously, he was excited just to be back. For him to get injured today, it was really tough.Long was carted off the field during the Vikings final drive, and he was on crutches in the Vikings locker room after the game. He declined an interview request in the locker room. With Long out, the Vikings put Jeremiah Sirles at left tackle, keeping T.J. Clemmings on the right side at the end of the game. The team has been sorting through options since losing left tackle Matt Kalil to a torn hip labrum in September, and will continue to look for a solution. Left guard Alex Boone, who has played tackle in the NFL before, sounded open to the possibility of making that move.Who cares? Im ready to roll, he said. Me and [offensive line coach] Tony [Sparano] are going to have a conversation probably tonight or tomorrow about what were going to do, but well get it figured out. Im not worried. That conversation has already taken place, according to a league source and Boone has said hes willing to play tackle if the Vikings need him to make the move. The Vikings will consider their options this week. Sidney Crosby Jersey . McPhee said that Ovechkins father Mikhail is in stable condition after having the surgery this week and is no longer in intensive care. "Weve told him to stay as long as necessary with your dad," he said. Ovechkin and his Russian national team were eliminated from the mens hockey tournament in Sochi on Wednesday with a 3-1 quarter-final loss to Finland. Matt Murray Penguins Jersey . "Trying to breathe," he said with a grin. Bernier stopped 42 of 43 shots on Monday night, including all 22 in a hectic middle frame, his heroic performance propelling the Leafs toward an undue point in their final game before the Christmas break. http://www.penguinsauthenticofficial.com/matt-murray-jersey/ . Clarkson had been dealing with an elbow injury in early January and will be out of action for at least one week. He has three goals and five assists through 36 games with the Leafs this season. Justin Schultz Jersey . -- The Missouri Tigers might not have a roster full of superstars. Jaromir Jagr Jersey .ca look back at each of the Top 10 stories of 2013. Today, we look back at Boston Strong - a citys recovery from tragedy. Australian athletes at the Rio Olympics are being roused from their beds after just a few hours of sleep to be drug tested, prompting a complaint by team management.Among those to have their sleep disrupted are swimmer Cameron McEvoy and the mens hockey team. They had knocks on their doors about 6am Rio time (1900 AEST) despite only getting to bed three or four hours earlier.Chef de mission Kitty Chiller says the team is fully supportive of the tests but officials need to be mindful that competitive schedules have changed for some sports. They want to be tested. They dont mind being tested. Test them 100 times, test them 1000 times, but do it at a time that shows some respect for their competition schedule, Chiller said.We are concerned about swimmers, hockey players, all our team members getting a knock on their door at six or seven oclock in the morning when theyve had a late night. The Australians have raised their concerns with drug testing authhorities and the International Olympic Committee said the complaint was a reasonable one.dddddddddddd.Spokesman Mark Adams said drug testers should work around the revised competition schedules if possible. But it depends on whether the authorities are able to carry out effective doping controls, he said. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) did not respond to requests for comment.About 5500 tests will be conducted on the 10,500 athletes in Rio including the top five athletes in every final along with two others at random. Those tests samples will be kept for 10 years to be re-tested using new techniques that may be developed in the future.Chiller said she did not believe the early morning tests had been detrimental to performances so far.But its not something that is ideal when you cant get a full nights sleep, she said.
