Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid has become the youngest player in NHL history to be awarded captaincy. McDavid, who was drafted first overall by the Oilers in 2015, becomes the NHLs youngest captain at 19 years and 266 days.The 19-year-old forward has been given the honour after the team went last season without a permanent captain, deciding to use alternates instead.
