SEATTLE -- Chris Sale will make his first start in six days when the Chicago White Sox face the Seattle Mariners on Monday. This time, Sale will not be representing the White Sox, not the American League. The All-Star Game starter will be back on the mound to open the Seattle series, and the White Sox are going to need his A game if their offense continues to struggle like it did during the weekend sweep in Anaheim. Chicago (45-46) scored just one run in the series. Were not finding ways to manufacture runs or put the ball in play. Thats the frustrating part, White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier told the Chicago Tribune. The White Sox might find company in Seattles misery this week. The Mariners (46-46) scored just two runs over the final two games of the Houston series, and they have pretty much played their way out of contention in the American League West after a promising first two months of the season.Five runs in three games, thats not going to get it done, Mariners manager Scott Servais said after Sundays 8-1 loss to Houston. Weve got to do better than that.Seattles offense is only part of the problem as the Mariners pitching rotation continues to battle injuries. Scheduled Monday starter Wade LeBlanc (1-0, 3.52 ERA) has done his part to fill in, but he is coming off a rough outing his last time out. A converted reliever who pitched in Japan last year and was with Torontos Triple-A affiliate before the desperate Mariners acquired him in June, LeBlanc will be making his fourth start with Seattle. The Mariners could help him by playing better defense than they did on Sunday, when Seattle committed a season-high four errors in what Servais called the worst game we played all year.Third baseman Kyle Seager, who had two errors and now has nine since June 2, added, It definitely wasnt a good day.If the Mariners are going to reverse their fortunes and get back into the wild-card race, theyll have to start by scoring some runs on one of the games best pitchers. Sale is having a typical season, but he is coming off his worst start of the season. The Atlanta Braves hit three home runs off Sale in a July 8 win over the White Sox, during which he allowed eight runs off 10 hits.Pretty embarrassing, Sale said after that performance, according to MLB.com. Its about as bad as I possibly think in a while. Cheap Nike React Shoes . Scott won the Australian PGA last week in his first event in Australia since winning the U.S. Masters in April. George North will not play for Northampton again until he has been assessed by an independent expert in head injuries. The Welsh wing, who has suffered a series of concussions, was cleared by Saints medics to continue playing during Saturdays Aviva Premiership clash with Leicester despite replays suggesting he had been knocked out following a tackle from Adam Thompstone.Questions have been raised about whether the players welfare was best served by his return to action but Northampton released a statement defending their actions, which they insist were fully in compliance with World Rugbys head injury assessment protocols. The club do, though, admit that the footage available to them at the time was limited and have taken the precautionary steps of withdrawing North from action pending the specialists verdict.A statement from Northampton said: As at every Aviva Premiership match, the Saints medical team has access to video footage to be used to assist the pitchside assessment of injuries. It is important to note this video footage is not always the full range of replay angles available to the TV viewing audience at home. The medical team can only base their decisions on the evidence available to them at the time of assessment. World Rugby protocol dictated, given the evidence available to the medical team, the use of a Head Injury Assessment.ddddddddddddGeorge was fully assessed by the doctor away from the pitch using the established protocols and processes, and passed fit to return to play. As with all such injuries, if evidence suggesting a loss of consciousness had been available to the medical team at the time of assessment, George would not have been allowed to return to the field of play. All rugby supporters will no doubt be delighted to learn that George remains well. Nevertheless, Northampton Saints continues to place player welfare as its number one priority, and is referring George to an independent expert as part of the clubs ongoing assessment process and George will be stood down from play until this process is complete. There is a concussion management and monitoring protocol in place for all Aviva Premiership matches which provides for independent review and the opportunity for more detailed investigation. This is an ongoing process with several stages, and the club looks forward to contributing to this.Additionally Northampton Saints is seeking to work with all parties to improve the availability of all footage that may assist team medics with injury management.
