NEW YORK -- Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III has four weeks to find four players to fill out his U.S. team, and there wont be a lack of information. And to hear him Monday morning, there wont be a lack of players.Anybody in the top 100 has to be our radar because a guy could get hot the next two weeks and move himself to the Tour Championship and be in the running for the FedEx Cup, Love said. And I get to pick him on Sunday night. The Barclays ended U.S. qualifying for the eight automatic spots, and while there was a flutter of excitement from Rickie Fowler, there was no change among the top eight when Fowler collapsed over the final four holes. Zach Johnson wound up getting the final spot, joined by Brandt Snedeker, Brooks Koepka, PGA champion Jimmy Walker, Patrick Reed, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth and U.S. Open champion Dustin Johnson.Europes nine automatic qualifiers were set one week earlier. Now comes the hard part for Love and European captain Darren Clarke.Clarke makes his three choices Tuesday. On a team that already features five Ryder Cup rookies, he is looking hard at experience and appears set on Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood. Two rookies who stand out are Russell Knox, a two-time PGA Tour winner this season who is No. 20 in the world, making him the sixth-highest ranked European; and Thomas Pieters, the Belgian loaded with power who won in Denmark on Sunday. Also being considered is Luke Donald, who is slowly rounding into form. Donald has two runner-up finishes in the last five months, and he has a 10-4-1 record in his four previous Ryder Cups.In a change this year, Love will have two more FedEx Cup playoff events before having to select three players. The fourth player wont be announced until the Tour Championship ends Sept. 25 and players head for Hazeltine for the Ryder Cup the following week. His reference to the top 100 was the FedEx Cup -- the remaining field at the Deutsche Bank Championship this week -- and 59 Americans were among those 100.Love mentioned the Billy Horschel Rule as to why so many might be under consideration. Two years ago, right after the picks were made, Horschel won the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship to capture the FedEx Cup.So what to do?Love stressed the importance of the eight qualifiers, at one point saying it was time for them to take ownership of the team. Love was part of the Ryder Cup task force that spread the picks over the length of the FedEx Cup so the U.S. team could get its hottest players. He didnt specify what constituted a hot player, nor was there any way of knowing such form would carry over to the matches when they start Sept. 30.Theres a lot of things to measure, he said. I think one of the best questions somebody asked me when we were trying to make a decision on picks in 2012 ... is it easier for that guy to stay hot or for that other guy to get hot?He also said he has hired Scouts Inc. to provide statistics on various players -- how they would fare at a big course like Hazeltine, how they would partner and how they would fare depending on the team they are playing. We know two, maybe three, of our four are going to be pretty easy picks, Love said. But handling that last one, this is new territory for all of us. Yeah, a lot of pressure on two guys, three guys, going into the Tour Championship. Not only are they playing for the FedEx Cup and for a lot of money, trying to win the last tournament of the year, but they have got this Ryder Cup thing hanging over them. So its going to be fun.It was the second time in three Ryder Cup years -- both times when Love was captain -- that no one qualified in the final week. Love said his statistics company predicted that would be the case this year, even though Fowler was poised to qualify until dropping three shots on the last four holes.Love said Fowler was trending up with how he played at The Barclays and tournaments coming up. Then again, he went on to mention Ryan Moore, Sean OHair, Gary Woodland, Jason Kokrak and even Jamie Lovemark. We have a lot of tough decisions ahead of us, he said. Rickey Jackson Saints Jersey . -- There were a lot of firsts for the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson Youth Jersey . Jane Virtanen scored two, and Alex Roach and Elliott Peterson rounded out the offence for the Hitmen (40-15-6). Brady Brassart chipped in with three assists. Colton McCarthy scored twice, Brayden Point had a goal and two assists, and Jack Rodewald also scored for the Warriors (15-35-9), who were 2 for 5 on the power play. http://www.shoptheofficialsaints.com/Elite-Archie-Manning-Saints-Jersey/ . Artturi Lehkonen, Joni Nikko and Ville Leskinen had the other goals for Finland (1-0) while Juuse Saros stopped 28 shots. Tim Robin Johnsgard had the lone goal for Norway (0-2). Taysom Hill Jersey . Dusautoir, the former World Player of the Year, sustained a torn bicep playing for Toulouse in the Heineken Cup on Saturday. The flanker, who has played 65 times for France, is expected to be out for up to four months. Taysom Hill Womens Jersey . "We have always prided ourselves on the way we play defence. Having two big pieces back is going to be a key for us moving forward for years to come," said Knighthawks head coach Mike Hasen. Only those AFL players lucky enough to feature in a grand final are able to properly describe the pressure created by the sports most momentous stage. They see the city of Melbourne come to life with their clubs colours. They hear the noise generated by a crowd larger than the entire population of Ballarat. They know millions around the country will be watching; that they will be responsible for the delight or despair of fans around the world. They sense the expectation, long before the ball is bounced at the MCG or Mike Brady belts out the sports anthem. For those players attempting to break a premiership drought, it is all amplified. Sydney had their turn in 2005 and, on Saturday, it was the Western Bulldogs 62-year wait for a flag that boiled down to four quarters. You could tell. Pundits described it as the loudest grand-final crowd in recent memory. They roared when Easton Wood won the toss, when Zaine Cordy kicked the first goal of the game and every highlight that followed. There were a lot.The Bulldogs could hardly have handled the occasion better, producing a grand final to rival any of the classics. It was a feel-good moment for so many people, including injured skipper Bob Murphy who was called up to the premiership dais and handed a medallion by coach Luke Beveridge. This is yours mate. You deserve it more than anyone, Beveridge said.Beveridge and Swans counterpart John Longmire grinned and joked at Fridays pre-match media conference when asked about the prospect of extra time, introduced in the grand final this year for the first time.It didnt eventuate but looked on the cards midway through the final term. Extra time would have beenn a fitting finish to a thrilling contest that ebbed and flowed in near-unbelievable fashion.ddddddddddddThe Bulldogs, so resilient in an injury-riddled season and so undaunted in a history-making finals campaign, were relentless as they completed a fairytale run to the flag from seventh place on the ladder.Excitement machine Jason Johannisen, born in South Africa and more interested in rugby union for much of his childhood, was a popular choice for the Norm Smith medal.Tom Boyd dropped a chest mark in the opening minute but settled to produce the greatest game of his career, clutching six contested marks and kicking the sealer to silence those who slammed his million-dollar salary. At the other end of the ground, it was Joel Hamling, delisted by Geelong but handed a career lifeline by the Dogs, who did an incredibly good job on Lance Franklin. From the moment Franklin trotted to the goal square after the national anthem, Hamling refused to be intimidated. It was a trait that epitomised the Bulldogs approach, especially in the second quarter when the Swans booted four goals on the trot and threatened to seize control of the low-scoring clash.Murphy, who patrolled the sideline pre-match like a Davis Cup captain, cried at the siren. The tears didnt stop for some time.Murphy will spend the rest of his life wishing he did not rupture his anterior cruciate ligament early in the season. But the 34-year-old, like so many current and former teammates to have fallen in love with Whitten Oval, will celebrate like its 1954.
