Sky Sports rugby presenter Alex Payne is backing Wales to end Frances Grand Slam hopes on Friday. The Rugby Club host also expects Eddie Jones England to maintain their unbeaten run but is predicting a 10th straight Six Nations defeat for Scotland in Rome.England v Ireland (Saturday, 4.50pm)Recent history stacks up on Englands side - winning five of the last six with Ireland, though two of those were rather diluted World Cup warm-ups. Stretching back even further, England have won eight of the last 11 meetings at Twickenham. Form also favours the home side, as does freshness with the visitors injury worries dominating their build-up. Having said that, no Joe Schmidt side arrives unprepared and Ireland are more than capable of grabbing a win. But with seven tries to Irelands one in the tournament so far I just think England are running in a higher gear, one that should take them home by 6-10 points at 4/1 with Sky Bet. Englands Jack Nowell targets a 10th try in nine Tests at Twickenham Englands entertainer? Jack Nowell has quietly built up nine tries in his last eight Tests - albeit with a hat-trick in the final world cup game against Uruguay. He is 10/1 to make that 10 this weekend with the first try. For longer odds, Danny Care added real spark when he came off the bench in Rome, he is 18/1 to cross last against Ireland having scored a belter against them at Twickenham in 2014.Irish inspiration? Ireland have only scored three tries against England in their last six games. Simon Zebo (9/2 anytime) will be tasked with bringing a bit of the X-factor to the Irish side. Payne on England v Ireland at Twickenham on Saturday Italy v Scotland (Saturday, 2.25pm)What a bun fight this is set to be. Scotland carried huge amounts of optimism into the tournament off the back of the World Cup, only for it to pop against England. Italy carried huge amounts of optimism into round two off the back of pushing France, only for it to pop against England too. The Italians pinched last years Six Nations meeting with a penalty try at the death, and outscored Scotland by three tries to one, but in the head-to-head Scotland have won seven of the last nine. However, I am going against recent history in this one and think Italy might pinch it. England broke the Italians down physically over 60 minutes and then ran riot in the final quarter but Im not sure Scotland have the bulk to do the same. I fancy the Azzuri to win by 1-5 points at 11/2 with Sky Bet. Sergio Parisse and Michele Campagnaro try to stop Englands Jonathan Joseph Italian stallion? Its always worth keeping an eye on Sergio Parisse. The only country in the Six Nations the great No 8 hasnt scored a try against is Scotland, but Im playing Michelle Campagnaro (9/1 anytime) who has been their liveliest back.Hot Scot? Mark Bennett has scored in his two previous games against the Italians and is 5/2 to make it three in three. Tommy Seymour has scored six tries in his last seven games for Scotland and is also worth considering. Payne on Italy v Scotland Weekend Sky Bet treble: Wales, Italy and England at 9/2.Wales 19-10 Neither side has been terribly convincing so far, but Wales look more capable than France of hitting a higher level this Friday. Warren Gatlands men hold the cards heading to Cardiff - they are on a four-game winning run over es Blues and boast 660 Test caps in the starting XV, with 292 on the bench. Jimmy Gopperth talks about Englands big Six Nations clash with Ireland and Elliot Dalys singing talent on the Rugby Club Agenda France have managed just two wins in their last 15 away games, against Scotland and Italy, while their last trip to Cardiff was the All Black quarter-final mauling in the World Cup. Though the team is much changed, Im not sure the form has.Im backing Wales to pick up speed and cruise home by 11-15 points at 9/2 with Sky Bet.Welsh wonders? George North has scored the first try against France in two the last three meetings, and is 13/2 to score the opening try. At scrum-half Gareth Davies has scored six tries in his last seven Tests which is a sharp return for a nine. Davies is 13/8 anytime.France firepower? No. They have crossed the whitewash just once against Wales in their last five meetings, so consider no French try at 4/1. PETERSBURG, Fla.LOS ANGELES RAMS (7-9)OPEN CAMP: July 27 (rookies), July 29 (veterans), Irvine, CaliforniaLAST YEAR: Rams bade farewell to St. Louis with 12th consecutive non-winning season and 11th straight non-playoff season. While defense was solid and rookie running back Todd Gurley became star, they also fielded NFLs worst offense and worst passing game. Attendance sagged while losses mounted and relocation became increasingly probable. Rams announced plans to return to California in January.IMPORTANT ADDITIONS: QB Jared Goff, CB Coty Sensabaugh, TE Tyler Higbee, WR Pharoh Cooper.IMPORTANT LOSSES: CB Janoris Jenkins, DB Rodney MacLeod, LB James Laurinaitis, DLs Chris Long and Nick Fairley.CAMP NEEDS: Aside from finding out whether Goff is ready to be immediate starter, Rams must identify and train replacements for defensive regulars lost to free agency and cost-cutting measures.dddddddddddd Alec Ogletree taking over middle linebacker responsibilities of Laurinaitis, leading tackler in franchise history. E.J. Gaines or Sensabaugh should step up to take Jenkins starting job.EXPECTATIONS: Rams returning to Coliseum with tremendous amount of local excitement, and they signaled their desperation to win now by mortgaging chunk of future to draft Goff. Yet Los Angeles stuck in division with two of NFLs best teams, and leagues worst offense probably cant be magically fixed by rookie quarterback and little else.
